How to fill online application form in VTU Step By Step Procedure
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS
- 1. Examination application form filing is allowed between 7.00 am to 10.00 pm during the scheduled working days.
- 2. The facility of online filing of examination application form is provided to the students for the first time due to COVID-19. The students can file the application from their own home/place.
- 3. After filing application by uploading photo, student can take a printout of the application. The printout thus taken shall be signed by the student and submitted to the college (by electronic means such as email, Whatsapp etc.) along with prescribed fee.
- The mode of submission of application and payment of fee to the college is to be decided by the college and informed to the students.
- Students must complete the process of finalizing his/her application submission taking printout making payment of exam fee and submission of all the details to college as per the instructions of the college before 3.00 P.M on 8th August 2020
- 4. In case of difficulties, students can request the college to file his/her application form from the college. In such a case, necessary inputs like Photo, Subjects to be applied are to be submitted to the college as per the instructions issued by the college.
- 5. In case of discrepancies like missing data in the application or missing student details, students may request the college. Upon information from the student, colleges shall raise a ticket, which will be verified and approval process will be initiated as per norms.
- 6. Application filing by the students is made available at URL: https://prexam.vtu.ac.in
- 7. USER id will be your USN and you must obtain your password from the college.
- 8. File your application carefully and take a printout and verify.
- 9. Upload your recent passport size (Max 40KB) Photo
- 10. You are permitted to edit the application any number of times before submission to the college.
- 11. No corrections in the approved application is permitted once application and fee are submitted to the college.
- 12. In any case, refund of fee once paid is not possible.
- 13. Thoroughly read and familarized yourself with the Special Regulations issued by the VTU
- 14. Strictly adhere to the Standard Operating Procedures issued by UGC, State Government and the University in the conduct of examinations
- 15. On the days of exams, be present in the college Campus at least 1 hours 30 minutes before the start of examinations.
- 16. Wearing of Mask and Hand Gloves at all times and locations is compulsory.
- 17. Students are permitted to bring and use their own hand sanitizer.
- 18. If you have any symptoms such as fever, cough, cold etc,. request the college authorities for separate seating arrangements at least one day before your exams.
- 19. Carry your own water bottle, pen, pencil, calculator, data handbook etc.,
- 20. Check your belongings and pockets for any written material and electronic devices other than calculator which should not result into Malpractice.
Step by Step procedure to fill VTU online application form
STEP 1
All regular/arrear students can file the exam form online by logging in to https://prexam.vtu.ac.in/VTUPrexam/index.php
The user id is student’ USN and contact your mentor for password
Final semester (UG/PG) students can file examination fee for all regular subjects and backlogs with prescribed fees
Intermediate year students (UG/PG) can file the exam form for all regular and arrear subjects by paying 300/- marks card fee plus fees applicable to backlog subjects as per university rule
Students should pay the applicable exam fees online and send the scanned copy of duly signed exam application with scanned copy of transaction receipt which clearly mentions the date of payment, UTR/transaction number and amount to the college

Step 2 : click on UG APPLICATION FORM
THEN Enter user id (usn number ) and password
STEP 3
AFTER DOING SECOND STEP YOW WILL GET BELOW WINDOW IN THIS YOU CLICK ON STUDENTS
STEP 4
After Clicking students you will get window that showing your subjects and if you having backlogs everything it will show you have to just tick the subject you want apply
step it will also show your backlog subject(arrears subject,it is not compulsory to apply you backlog subject it is optional)
If student doesn’t want to write particular arrear semester ,same can be un -checked .only tick which subject you want to apply remainning untick the box.
STEP 5 :you can add your backlogs by subject code
STEP 6 AFTER ADDING AUTOMATICALLY SHOW THE FEE TO BE FAID
PAYMENT METHOD CAN BE DEPEND ON THE COLLEGE YOU CAN ASK YOUR COLLEGE
STEP 7 Upload your recent passport size (Max 40KB) Photo

VTU :How grade will be CALCULATED For promoted students
- CIE MARKS OF EACH COURSE OF CURRENT EVEN SEMESTER CAN BE SCALED TO MAXIMUM OF 50
Example :
Each student internal marks of each subject they will take as out 50…
They may consider best of your internals or average they will take best only . if you attended only one internal then one internal considerable only.
if you absent in the internal also they do alternative like they may give chance to write internal or assingnment etc..its depend on college.
2. SEE marks of all credit courses of preceding odd semester shall be scaled to maximum of 50 they averaged. if the students has remain absent in the preceding semester,the SEE marks that course shall taken as zero,
Example 1:If you passed all subjects in preceding odd semester
Note : Maximum marks is 50 or if you consider different scheme maximum marks both are same
Subject 1 : 40
subject 2 : 35
subject 3 : 32
subject 4 : 28
subject 5 : 42
subject 6 : 40
Total = 217
Average = 217/6 =36.1
SEE OF EACH SUBJECT IS 36.1 you should get minimum of 10 for passing OUT of 50
Example 2:If you have 2 backlogs subjects in preceding odd semester
Note : Maximum marks is 50 or if you consider different scheme maximum marks both are same
Subject 1 : 40
subject 2 : 35
subject 3 : 15 (fail)
subject 4 : 28
subject 5 : 10(fail)
subject 6 : 40
Total = 217
Average = 168/6 =28
SEE OF EACH SUBJECT IS 28 you should get minimum of 10 for passing OUT of 50

3. The calculated SEE marks shall be taken as SEE marks of each course of the current even semester
4. The minimum average SEE marks passing shall be 10/50
5.Total marks for any course of the current even semester shall be sum of the CIE+SEE
6. The grades shall be assigned based on the applicable regulation
7.Where marks require scaling ,fractional marks shall be rounded up to the next larger integer.

As per the directions of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor and above references,
1. The Academic and Examination calendar will be released shortly by the university based on UGC guidelines and Directions from Govt. of Karnataka
2. Final year project work, involving lab. Investigations/ field work/ fabrication workk etc., may be finalized on the basis of secondary data, design details etc. The institutes are advised to evaluate the Internal marks of the final year project using Skype or other meeting applications. The students may be advised to keep the soft copy of the report ready
The colleges are required to follow all the precautionary measures to ensure safe and proper social distancing in the campuses and preventive measures to curb the spread of Covid-19.
Additional precautions to be followed are as under.
3.All the teaching and non-teaching staff should wear the masks compulsorily (face cOver) during working hours and during travel from home to office and back.
Before entering into the college and office premises, everyone should be checked for the body temperature using a infrared thermometer.
Hand sanitizers should also be kept in the laboratories, staff rooms and office room
Plan to spray the offices and the classrooms with safe chemical disinfectants/fumigation.
Colleges shall arrange for general health checkup of all the fiaculty and staff
Persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women shall work from home except for meeting essential requirements.
5. Colleges are directed to instruct the teachers about the classroom interventions followed by examinations when the students are back to the campus. Tentatively. classroom sessions followed by examinations would commence from 1 June 2020

How to Apply for Revalution application

Don’ts:
1. Students should not make online payment to the university directly.
2. Students should not send their information to the University directly.
Do’s
1. A format with necessary instructions is enclosed.
2. A printout of the application is to be taken and after filling the required
data students must submit the application to the college by email.
3. If the printing facility is not available to a student, he / she shall “write
by hand all the required data as per application format in a sheet legibly,
put his / her signature” and scan the same by using cam scanner or
similar mobile Apps or take snap of the same and send it to the college by
email.
4. The application has to be filled and send to the college either by email or
as per the instruction issued by the college.
5. If there is a provision made by the college to make online payment of
revaluation fee, students can make payment of revaluation fee online to the
college, if not, they need to make the payment of fee once the college reopens.
6. UG COURSES Fee for Revaluation is Rs. 400/- per subject and for Photocopy is
Rs.300/- per subject and Application Fee of Rs.20/- per candidate.
7. PG COURSES – There is no facility to opt for Photocopy, fee for Revaluation is
Rs.3000/- per subject and application of Rs.20/- per candidate
8. All the students are eligible to apply for Revaluation in any number of theory
subjects.
9. All the students are eligible to apply for Photocopy of answer scripts in any
number of theory subjects (excluding the scripts attached with drawing sheets).
Instructions to colleges:
1. As Holidays are declared for the students, the Principals must make
arrangements to get the information from the students in the attached format.
2. The attached format must be displayed in the college website along with
the mailing ids/ WhatsApp numbers to which the students are required
to send their filled in application with their signature.
